georgina roberts about me

I wrote my first novel at age ten, originally entitled The Haunted House, with all of my friends in it, and my two dogs in leading roles.

I have always been an avid reader and writer, even editing boyfriends' love letters for poor grammar and spelling. I was later awarded a Rhodes scholarship to study literature after matric.

My mother thought there was nothing worse than having a writer in the family. She was wrong. Making the first of many dubious life choices after an argument, I instead went to Johannesburg to get a degree in Equine Science.

I spent the next ten years using my writing skills to amuse friends on social media while I climbed the ranks of the dressage world, competing and coaching at a high level. An equestrian publication, Gauteng Horse Mag, signed me on at beginning 2015, and so began The Off Side, a behind-the-scenes column in the horse world. This snowballed and branched into several other opportunities, including corporate ‎PR for companies like Woolworths, press releases for Legacy magazine, social media and editing for several smaller companies, as well as becoming editor and social media manager for a new publication, Equilife.
